# Forbidden Message Categories

> Review the traffic, offers, and message categories prohibited on Leadping so you can check your intended messaging before sending leads, texts, or calls.

If a proposed source, offer, message, or audience falls into a category below, do not send it through Leadping.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Do not test a questionable use case in production. Pause and contact [support@leadping.ai](mailto:support@leadping.ai) with the website, source, opt-in path, message examples, and intended recipients.

The [Acceptable Use Policy](https://leadping.ai/docs/acceptable-use.md) contains the formal requirements. Follow the stricter rule if any guidance appears to differ.

## Prohibited traffic

| Category | Examples |
| - | - |
| Illegal activity | Illegal goods, services, transactions, or instructions |
| Fraud and deception | Phishing, smishing, impersonation, fake invoices, deceptive alerts, or credential collection |
| Abuse | Harassment, threats, stalking, hate, intimidation, or repeated unwanted contact |
| Adult content | Pornography, sexual services, escort services, or adult dating solicitations |
| Weapons | Firearms, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, or related offers |
| Drugs | Cannabis, CBD, THC, controlled substances, illicit drugs, or paraphernalia |
| Gambling | Betting, lotteries, sweepstakes, contests, or fantasy-sports promotions |
| High-risk finance | Payday or title loans, abusive collection, debt relief, credit repair, or mortgage-relief offers |
| Speculative offers | Cryptocurrency, tokens, trading promotions, get-rich-quick schemes, or multi-level marketing |
| Misleading claims | Deceptive healthcare, insurance, financial, employment, housing, legal, tax, immigration, or government-benefit claims |
| Unsafe content | Malware, harmful attachments, hidden destinations, or deceptive redirects |
| Invalid contact data | Purchased, rented, scraped, harvested, recycled, aged, or non-consented lists |
| Mismatched traffic | Messages that do not match the configured source, sender, consent, campaign, or examples |
| Control evasion | Attempts to bypass registration, opt-out, suppression, billing, security, or review controls |

## Restricted use cases

Do not send the following without explicit Leadping approval and all applicable provider approval:

* alcohol, tobacco, vaping, or other age-restricted promotions; and
* political, charitable, public-health, emergency, or similarly regulated messaging.

Approval is not guaranteed.

## Prohibited practices

Do not:

* split prohibited traffic across sources, numbers, brands, or accounts;
* rename or disguise a use case to pass review;
* send content materially different from approved examples;
* continue after a Leadping, carrier, provider, intake, or compliance issue;
* upload contacts that did not opt in to the specific outreach; or
* ignore STOP, DNC, unsubscribe, suppression, or other no-contact requests.

Leadping may reject leads, disable sources, pause numbers, block messages, or require additional review.

## Examples that need a closer review

| Proposed workflow | Why it is a problem |
| - | - |
| A quote request for Brand A is used to promote Brand B | The recipient’s original disclosure may not cover the new sender |
| A message looks acceptable but links to a prohibited offer | Review the destination and offer as well as the message text |
| A vendor says an old list is “opted in” but cannot provide the original evidence | The sender cannot establish the source or permission for this outreach |
| A previously approved campaign adds a different product | The changed traffic may no longer match the registered use case |

Consent, a certificate, or previous carrier approval does not create an exception to prohibited content. For an uncertain classification, send support the proposed workflow and redacted examples before activating it.

## Review a proposed use case

Before launch, compare the entire workflow—not only the message text—against this page:

* business and sender identity;
* source and audience;
* offer and product;
* opt-in disclosure and TrustedForm certificate;
* message content and links; and
* recipient preferences and suppression status.

If the classification remains unclear, do not send traffic until Leadping has reviewed it.
